Just a word of warning. My new gfx card should be easily powerful enough to run MW2 with extra textures (beyond high) and shadows. Indeed the FPS I was getting were really high. Unfortunately the game stuttered, lagged and crashed randomly. Took me a while to figure it out but it seems that extra textures at least, possibly shadows too, are bugged.
Shoddy. Not as shoddy as Black Ops currently but shoddy nontheless. What's the point of pretty settings you can't use ? :/
