Steam's new big-picture mode, offers simple, easy-to-read navigation designed specifically for TV. With full controller support, big-picture mode lets gamers kick back and enjoy their favorite games on the biggest screen in the house.

That looks pretty good actually. I doubt I'd get away with parking my Coolermaster CM 690 II Advanced Dominator in front of the living room telly tho :/

It works pretty well for something that is in beta.

Assuming you have an xbox controller connected to the PC (wired or vi wireless dongle) pressing the central spherical guide button switches into Big Picture mode (even if Steam is just sitting in the tray area and not actually active).

If you add XBMC in as a non-Steam app it can launch that as well and you can navigate XBMC via a controller so it is pretty nice.

On my laptop there is a slight flicker on the thumbnail images as it moves from game to game. There is also a slight oddity that by default it lists all the games bought rather than the ones just installed. You can switch to just installed but it reverts back next time it is launched.
